Good News !!!!!!!!!!
We are now back up and running having recently satisfied all of the new licensing requirements. Our new license # : SB-01186-F (Scottish Borders Council)
The Farmhouse has been operating as a holiday let for approximately 5 years and is advertised through AirBnB. We have consistently achieved a 5 star guest rating with details available on our AirBnB profile.
It is located on a small (non-working) farm, part way up a hill with panoramic views south over The Cheviots and west towards the Eildon Hills. It has a large, secure front garden with plenty of space for kids (and dogs) to play.
How to find us (What 3 words - return.icebergs.rod)
From the North
Exit the A1 at Ayton, follow the B6355 towards Duns for 1 mile, turn left under the railway bridge and follow signs for Foulden. After passing through the wood at the top of the hill St.John’s is the next farm on the left (about ½ mile from wood).
From the South
Follow the Berwick bypass over the River Tweed, at the top of the hill take the A6105 towards Foulden & Duns. After crossing the England / Scotland border continue for 1 mile and take the next right (100m after the little traffic island), signposted Ayton. Follow this road for 1 mile, St.John’s is signposted on the right.
From the West
Locate the A6105 at either Duns or Chirnside and head towards Berwick. After passing through the small village of Foulden (a row of houses on your left) take the next road to the left, signposted Ayton. Follow this road for 1 mile and St.John’s is on your right.
Accommodation
Accommodation comprises :
3 Large bedrooms
2 double and a twin
Family bathroom upstairs
Shower-room / toilet downstairs
Large kitchen / dining area with views out over the garden and the countryside beyond.
The living room features a wood-beamed ceiling and a wood burning stove.
A small utility room located off the kitchen houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, oil-fired central heating boiler etc.

Bookings are now being taken for the 2025 holiday season.

”Couples only discount” We will consider a discount offer for any couple agreeing to make use of just one of the 3 bedrooms during their stay. The choice of bedroom can be pre-arranged in advance. Call for details.

The farmhouse is run by Ann and Graham who live next door. They previously let the farm cottage as a holiday property for a number of years and built up a reputation for providing a good, clean, functional, well equipped cottage backed up by a warm, friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere.
Well behaved dogs are permitted (Max 2). The large front garden offers plenty of space for them to run around and there's a gate at the rear that separates the cottage from the farmhouse.

St.Johns Farmhouse self-catering holiday accommodation is located just north of the Scotland / England border. Approx 5 miles from Berwick upon Tweed and 10 miles from St.Abbs (recently twinned with New Asgard of Avengers fame).
